Is there anything impossible with the Lord?

When i posted last it was a friday night and i knew i was not playing in the game that night.  We ended up loosing that game 6-2 i think.  We did not play well at all, but the silver lining of not getting to play was i had the opportunity to spend time with my Mom and Carol Affolter for the whole evening.  We sat together and talked and it was  blast.  It did me good to see them and chat with both of them.  After our loss friday night i got a chance to play on saturday.  I was very thankful for that because Carol and my Mum had traveled all that way to see me and i wanted them to have a chance to see me play.  Although i was playing forward that night i was still excited to get the opportunity to play.  It was an excellent game and our team was doing well, the attitudes on the bench were excellent and it was a great atmosphere.  We were tied with Buffalo 2-2 going into the last minute of play and we ended up scoring with 17 seconds left to go up 3-2.  We were so excited and we knew we just had to hold them off for 17 seconds to win the game.  However, they ended up scoring with 2 seconds left to tie the game back up, it was disappointing to say the least.  We then went into overtime but the game ended up in a tie. After the game my coach told me that he thought i did a good job playing forward that night and i told him thanks.  I got close to scoring a goal which would of been nice.

After that weekend we went back to work the following week in practice and i think overall we had a good week of practies.  In addition to practice we also started classes this past week and i also started back working at the library again, so that was a bit of an adjustment.  I met with some challenges this week but the Lord was so faithful to me throughout the whole week.  He supplied me with His perfect and practical wisdom and overall it was a great week.  This past weekend (28th & 29th) we played Plattsburgh and Potsdam.  Plattsburgh is ranked 7th in the nation and they are always a good team.  As i was going through the week i simply asked the Lord for a miracle this weekend.  I just asked Him for it and then i said i know that you hear me Father and i just heard Him say, prepare for a miracle.  Thursday after practice i found out that i was not playing friday and again i was not too happy.  We went to Plattsburgh friday night and we ended up winning 2-0!  It has been over 6 years or something since our school beat Plattsburgh in their rink and also shut them out.  It was amazing, totally a miracle from the Lord.  I told a teammat of mine after the game and he asked me to ask the Lord that he would get a goal the next day.. and that we would win...  So i told him i would ask the Lord.  The next day we played Potsdam and the coach kept the lineup the same, and guess what?  We won that game too, i asked the Lord for another miracle and he did it.  And guess what else?  I prayed for my teammate to score and he ended up scoring the game winning overtime goal!  It was awesome!  I told him afterwards to thank the Lord, and he said "you prayed?!"  and i said "yep!  see what He can do?!".

It was so much fun this weekend.  Winning those 2 games gave us a chance to make the playoffs and we are heading in the right direction.  The Lord is totally for us and He showed us that this weekend.  I do hope to play this upcoming weekend and help contribute on the ice.  But i will work hard this week in practice totally unto the Lord and watch Him do it.  I feel like i could write more but i have written so much already.

I hope you all are enjoying your day and see how faithful and good the Lord is to you each and everyday.  I will update again after the games this weekend..

God is good ALL the time!

Hey guys i wanted to update you on how the games went the other weekend.  As you can see from my previous post i finally got a chance to play in a game.  We had a game friday night (Jan 7th) and also a game on the 8th.  I got to play in both games.  Our game friday night was a really good game, we were playing the 6th ranked team in the nation at home and there were about 5 min left in the 3rd period when they scored a goal to break the 2-2 tie.  They scored that goal on the power-play and we just couldn't score again to tie it up.  So we ended up loosing 3-2 that game, but we played really well, we just took a stupid penalty there that cost us a goal.  I was very pleased with how i played friday, i got a chance to play on the penalty kill as well which i was happy about and i really just had a lot of fun.  After the game my coach even commented to me on how i played well.  So in saturday nights game i got a chance to play again.  It was an away game and i got to start that game.  Which was fun because they call your name and you skate out to the middle of the ice.  I was feeling good about this game, especially with how we played the night before, however, we ended up loosing this game 10-1.  It was horrible, we couldn't seem to stop them from scoring.  Our whole entire team played bad as a whole, it was just not good at all.

After those two games that weekend we had a couple days off in a row.  The following weekend (14th & 15th)  we did not have any games.  So we just practiced that whole week and played some inter-squad scrimmage games.

Now this weekend (21st & 22nd)  we have two more games.  One tonight and one tomorrow night, out in the Buffalo area.  I was very pleased that i got a chance to play in our last games and i thought that that was going to continue.  But i find myself here now not dressing again for tonight's game.  I was not happy with it and when i heard the news yesterday after practice it took me a little while to be okay with it.  Right now i am doing fine and the Lord is helping me to move forward.

Yesterday i had a chance to speak at another local church's youth group meeting.  My one friend who i believe i have mentioned before, his name is Nick, he is a youth pastor at a local church here in Cortland.  I came to his youth group meeting last thursday and then after the meeting he asked me if i wanted to speak the following week.  I said yes and i knew from the Lord i was to speak on the love of God.  It was really fun getting to speak with these young kids (12, 13 and 14 yr olds) about how much the Lord loves them.  And it has been so good as to how the Lord has been teaching me about the Love of God in preparing for these teachings.

So right now my mom and Carol are on their way up here to watch my games this weekend and i am hoping that i will have a chance to play tomorrow night.

In the midst of my unfavorable situation i can be convinced that God is for me.  I know the Lord is doing a work in me right now and preparing me for all He has in store.  Somehow this will turn out for my good, i do not love it by any means, i wanna play!  But i know He will work it out for my good and i am what His word says i am.  I am a success everywhere i go because He goes with me.  So i plan to have a successful night tonight watching my team win!

Love ya'll, thanks for reading.

Guess who is playing???!!

Hey everyone!  I had a wonderful time at home.  My "break"  was very packed and full.  I am now back at school, we have to come back earlier than all the other students because of hockey.  I came back on sunday (Jan 2nd) and this weeks practices have been great.  The Lord has helped me so much and when i have been playing this week i have been so free in my mind.  The Lord continues to take me on in a revelation of Him, of His forgiveness and Grace in my life.  Also the fact that i am Favored beyond measure and i did not earn it!  It is awesome!  On tuesday i was walking off the ice and my coach said to me that he thought i was looking really good.  He said my passes look a lot better and said i am looking really good.  So he encouraged me to keep up the hard work and he said that he would get me into a game here soon sometime.

This weekend we have two games, we have one tomorrow night (friday, the 7th) and also saturday the 8th.  Coach put up the dress list for tomorrows game and i am playing!  I was not sure if he would put me in so soon after he said what he said, but he did.  So i am really looking forward to tomorrow night, i am just gonna have some fun!  I wanted ya'll to know before the game and i will try to update you all after this weekends games.

Thanks for reading!  I'll post again soon!
